NEPA MINERS SEASON TICKETS ON SALE NOW!

The NEPA Miners Football and Entertainment Team are excited to announce their partnership with the Mall at Steamtown as we are proud to be Scranton’s Hometown Team! Season and individual game tickets go on sale today Thursday June 5th at the customer service desk on the first floor of the Mall at Steamtown. NEPA Miners players and Miners Girls Members will be setting up shop outside the Scranton Mall this Saturday from Noon – 6pm as it is NASCAR Weekend in the city and the Mall at Steamtown is hosting a Sports Card Show inside. The Miners organization will be selling season tickets, recruiting potential members for the Miners Girls Entertainment Team and Football Team. Stop by our stand and get an autographed game program from our inaugural season and this year’s schedule. The NEPA Miners home opener is Saturday June 6th 7PM at Scranton Memorial Stadium versus the Schuylkill County Coal Crackers in the 2nd Annual Anthracite Classic. NEPA Miners Fans & Supporters, the NEPA Miners Football & Entertainment teams are bringing game night to the Scranton Hilton Hotel and Conference Center! The NEPA Miners would like to thank the Greater Scranton Chamber of Commerce and the Scranton Hilton for letting the Miners co-sponsor the June 18th Business Card Exchange leading up to our June 28th Home Opener.  It's almost showtime! The North East Pennsylvania (NEPA) Miners are a minor league football team organized in 2006 bringing a first of its kind football team to the area. The Miners play in the Regional American Football League (RAFL) with home games at Scranton Memorial Stadium. The Miners' goal is to serve the area with year round community service while providing superior customer service and quality entertainment on Saturday nights during our football season. The NEPA Miners completed an impressive 8-4 inaugural season through the hard work of players, coaches and support from the entertainment team. The NEPA Miners would like to congratulate Lackawanna College Head Coach Mark Duda on recently being inducted into the PA State Hall of Fame. Miners Head Coach Dan LaMagna is shown in the picture with Coach Duda at Genetti’s in Wilkes-Barre for the Hall of Fame Dinner. The NEPA Miners have many former Falcon football players which include Future Minor League Hall of Famer RB Donnie Jackson-Bey, RB’s Andre Chollette and Rasheed Nelson, LB Lati Woodruff and Rookie DT Eyad Elbattah. Coach Mark Duda has been a member of the football staff at Lackawanna College since the introduction of the sport in 1993. After one season as defensive coordinator, Duda moved up to head coach and in those twelve years has compiled a 92-37 record while elevating the program to a position of national prominence. In this tenure at the college he has produced over 150 Division 1 Scholarship Athletes. Under his guidance, Lackawanna has appeared in five bowl games and has been ranked nationally in recent years, highlighted by a No. 5 ranking at the end of the 2001 regular-season when Coach LaMagna was a member of the staff. NEPA Miners Football & Entertainment Announce the Start Up of Coach Charlie Wysocki’s Web Site, Camp and Foundation

The NEPA Miners organization is proud to announce that Coach Charlie Wysocki’s amazing story can now be found online at www.charliewysocki.com. Charlie’s Web Site will help share his amazing story on a national level as the Miners expect to see a book written on Charlie’s life and hopefully even a movie some day. Coach Charlie Wysocki is entering his fourth year as part of Coach LaMagna’s coaching staff and currently resides in Carbondale. Charlie was an All-State football player and wrestler at Wilkes-Barre Myers before attending the University of Maryland and becoming there second all-time leading rusher. Charlie had a serious ankle injury his senior year which dropped his stock on draft day. Charlie would receive several free agent offers before accepting a free agent invite with the Dallas Cowboys. During his time in camp with the Cowboys Charlie spoke with legendary Head Coach Tom Landry about not feeling well. This would be the end of his football career as Charlie was stricken with bipolar disorder. NEPA Miners @ Plains Carnival

The NEPA Miners Sports & Entertainment team is taking its show to Wilkes-Barre this Friday as they support the Plains Lions Club for their annual carnival and festivities. The NEPA Miners are gearing up for their Anthracite Classic Showdown June 28th at Scranton Memorial Stadium but are calling a time out to entertain their fans. Miners players will be giving out autographed game programs from their inaugural season. Event information and directions to the Carnival are below; Look for our Black & Gold colors at the event and we hope to see you there! Old Home Week 05/20/08 (Tue) thru 05/24/08 (Sat) Rides and midway by Montana Brothers. On the 20th Rob Sax will be providing music, and the car club will be there to show off their classic automobiles. Certain menu items are going for 50% off. The NEPA Miners Football and Entertainment Organization is warming up as the teams season opener is only months away! The Miners are spreading the word around Scranton, Wilkes-Barre and different parts of Northeastern Pennsylvania as they prepare to pre-sell season and individual game tickets. Tickets are already available for purchase on the Miners web site and will be available in the Mall at Steamtown in Scranton in the upcoming weeks (check back daily for updates). The picture of NEPA Miners Defensive End Malcolm Singleton and Miners Girl Entertainer Tiffany Fasulo can be found with the Miners season schedule at different parts of the Steamtown Mall. The work was done by photographer Greg Raymond from Studio 0220 in Scranton. Greg is a talented and creative young photographer who designed the NEPA Miners 2007 game program. PRACTICE UPDATE for the week of 6/3

The NEPA Miners practice at the South Side Complex in Scranton Thursday only this week. No practice on Tuesday with the NEPA Miners Golf Tournament, be ready to lock & load on Thursday at 6:30pm.  All players need to take care of equipment, insurance and study their playbooks as we are only a week away from putting on the gear.  The Miners are finishing up camp getting rookies and veterans in shape and signing new players to round off the roster.  The coaching staff is preparing their depth charts at Wednesdays Coaches Meeting as all verterans have reported and more players will be signed.  The team hopes to have everyone in equipment by next week.  Rain or Shine, the NEPA Miners football team is getting there work in. We know it will be our efforts now that will make the difference in a title run come October! The Road to Opportunity in the RAFL

The NEPA Miners made a league switch this off season in their quest to provide Scranton, Wilkes-Barre and all of Northeastern Pennsylvania with the best brand of minor league football. The NEPA Miners have a challenging but rewarding road ahead in the Regional American Football League (RAFL). The RAFL consists of 39 teams and 9 Divisions. The Miners season will start out of conference when our hometown team hosts the Schuylkill County Coal Crackers in the 2nd Annual Anthracite Classic. NEPA won the Miners Cup a year ago in a 44-14 first win in the history of the Miners franchise. This is a non-league game for our hometown team but counts for their national rankings. The Miners will remain home on July 12th for their home opener at Scranton Memorial Stadium versus the Hudson Valley Cowboys. The Cowboys (who do look like the Dallas Cowboys) are part of the RAFL North East Division which will consist of the Cowboys, the New England Knights, the expansion Connecticut Bearcats and our hometown NEPA Miners who were voted Best New Team on the East Coast by Minor League Football News last season. NEPA Miners Booster Club Golf Tournament

The NEPA Miners Football and Entertainment Team will have their 1st Annual Golf Tournament at Blue Ridge Trail Golf Course Tuesday June 3rd with a shotgun start at noon. It is $60 to golf and enjoy a buffet and prizes afterwards. All proceeds from the event will go to the NEPA Miners Booster Club which is a non-profit organization being started to further advance operations of your hometown football team on the football field and in the community. If you are not a golfer, supporters and fans are welcome to come enjoy a buffet and meet the Miners! NEPA Miners coaches, players and entertainment team members will be on hand to sign autographs, entertain our fans and hit the greens! The NEPA Miners 2nd Annual Charlie Wysocki Camp will be held May 31st at the Riverfront Sports Complex in Scranton. The North East Pennsylvania (NEPA) Miners are a minor league football team bringing a first of its kind football league to North Eastern Pennsylvania that will set the Miners apart from their competitors. While the Miners represent all of North East Pennsylvania, their basis of operations is the Poconos, encompassing the areas of Wilkes-Barre and Scranton. The Miners play in the Regional Atlantic Football League (RAFL) with home games at the area’s finest facilities.
The Miners’ goal is to serve the people of North East Pennsylvania with year-round community service while providing superior customer service and quality family entertainment on Saturday nights during the football season.
