NEPA Miners Host Combine/TryoutArticle published 3/25/2007, PA Homepage About 100-players participate in the NEPA Miners first tryout and combine Saturday afternoon at the Riverfront Sports Complex. Athletes were tested in 40-yard dash, bench press, pro agility (short shuttle), a 60-yard shuttle, three-cone drill, vertical jump, broad jump, and the sit-and- reach. Individual body measurements also will be taken. Participants were also given a shortened version of the Wonderlic Personnel Test, which has been administered for the last 30 years to prospective players in the National Football League. The Wonderlic offered is an eight-minute, 30-question test to assess aptitude for learning a job and adapting to solve problems in a wide range of situations. The score is calculated by the number of correct answers given in the allotted time. LaMagna says the team will plan to have their next combine in April. NEPA Miners season opener is June 30th against the Schuylkill County Coal Miners. ![]()
