Chasing History - Jackson-Bey Breaks Minor League Rushing Record

Article published 7/18/2007, The NAFL Website July 14, 2007: THE RECORD IS BROKEN! 15,302 Jackson-Bey Breaks Minor League Rushing Record by 1-yard. Miner ball carrier Donnie Jackson-Bey had 134 yards to break the all time Minor League rushing record by one yard. The run came in the fourth quarter and gave Jackson-Bey 15,301 for his career. He also had three touchdowns in the game as the N.E.P.A. Miners beat Hudson County 34-0 Saturday night.

July 8, 2007: Donnie Jackson-Bey paced the offense with 109 yards and a TD as the Miners opened up their NAFL season. DJ Bey needs 133 yards next weekend to become the All-Time Minor League leading rusher. Can Donnie break the record held by former Scranton Eagle Frank Yanik with 15,301 career yards during next weeks game against the South Central Yard Dawgs. The NEPA Miners started the NAFL season with a hard fought 13-7 victory on the road versus the South Central Yard Dawgs. Donnie Jackson-Bey paced the offense with 109 yards and a TD. DJ Bey needs 133 yards next weekend to become the All-Time Minor League leading rusher. Donnie will break the record held by former Scranton Eagle Frank Yanik with 15,301 career yards. Malcolm Singletons two sacks helped a strong defensive performance that held the Yard Dawgs to under 200 yards. July 1, 2007: Donnie Bey is sitting at 15,062, only 242 yards away. The 2007 NEPA Miners inaugural football season has begun and they already have a soon-to-be record breaking running back in Donnie Jackson-Bey as he chases minor league football history.

On June 29, 2007: Donnie was 336 yards away from breaking the Scranton Eagles own Frank Yanik's mark of 15,301 career yards. The NEPA Miners roster has been released to the public and online at www.nepaminers.com this week.

After his first opportunity in 2007 to reach closer, he managed 12 carries for 94-yards and 1 TD in the Miners 44-14 win over Coal Crackers this past Saturday. Donnie is now 242 yards away from the record from breaking the Scranton Eagles own Frank Yanik's mark of 15,301 career yards.

Donnie went to Arthur P. Shalick High School and then went to Lackawanna College, followed by Delaware State. He has been playing for 10 years and has played on Scranton Eagles, Northern Tier Bruins, Bismerk Blaze (TFL), Southern Tier Green Machine and Hudson Valley Saints. Over the years he has received awards such as, EFL Rookie of the Year 1997, 1999 National Player of the Year, All-American seven times! Donnie is 242 yards away from becoming the All-Time Minor League Rushing Leader surpassing the mark of 15,301 yards set by former Scranton Eagle Frank Yanik.
