Lehman Township, PA – Former Delaware State University Hornet Donnie Jackson-Bey broke the semi-pro football record for career rushing yards on Saturday, July 14, 2006. Jackson-Bey played for the Hornets football team in 1996 under legendary coach Bill Collick.
Jackson-Bey, ran for three touchdowns as the Northeast Pennsylvania Miners registered a 37-0 victory over the Hudson County Stars in a North American Football League contest. The 11 year veteran finished the game with 134 yards on 27 carries, giving him a career total of 15, 302 yards, one more than former Scranton Eagle standout Frank Yanik.
In 1996, DSU records show Jackson-Bey finishing the year with 162 yards on 41 carries and two touchdowns. He also had three receptions for 26 yards, while wearing the Hornets columbia blue and red.
