MINERS Announce New Partnership with F.A.S.S.T. Performance By Design
The North East PA Miners Football Organization is always looking to find a competitive edge and just lit up the scoreboard again at Scranton Memorial Stadium. The team is excited to announce a partnership with Jason Braider and his company F.A.S.S.T. (Functional, Athletic, Speed, Strength and Training). Jason is a former Division III All-American running Back who has trained many college All-Americans and PRO athletes. “We pride ourselves in offering our players the best football experience around and this is another step in taking our game to the next level.” said Head Coach Dan LaMagna. ”Jason is an intense competitor and the guys will enjoy working with him and his company.”  Jason and F.A.S.S.T. have trained athletes such as the Dallas Cowboys Antonio Bryant and the San Francisco 49ers Kevin Barlow to name a couple.  F.A.S.S.T is a private, members only training center dedicated to the serious athlete. NEPA Miners trainer Joy DeSoto from Visions Personal Fitness Training will be on hand to warm up the athletes.  The Miners final tryout & combine is scheduled for Saturday April 12th at the Riverfront Sports Complex in Scranton. Registration is at 9:30am with the tryout/combine running from 10am-1pm. There is a $30 fee for new members and it is free to returning members in good standing and athletes who attended our AAFL Tryout. The tryout fee is to cover the costs of the facility and to make sure new members are serious about trying out for the team. “Athletes have a few more weeks to get into shape and come to the workout ready to compete,” said Defensive Coordinator Marty Evans. It is mandatory for all returning members to attend as the coaches will be making cuts and setting a pre-season depth chart after the tryout/combine. The Miners will start practicing Tuesday April 15th. “We are recruiting new talent entering our program as we are looking to raise the bar for 2008. Our team came out of the gates swinging last season, but this year we need to maintain that fight longer as we look to compete for a national title,” stated Head Coach Dan LaMagna. The final team meeting for the off season for interested and returning members is Wednesday March 26th, 6pm at the Scranton Hilton Hotel and Convention Center. The coaches will be reviewing off season updates, the latest team news and answer questions on the upcoming combine and practice schedule before holding positional meetings.
