The NEPA Miners had a solid tryout/combine and have some nice prospects going into camp such as athlete Rex Harris from Wilkes University, DB Craig Haywood from Kings, WR Josh Steely from Rowan and RB Mahmoud Elbattah from Millersville just to name a few. These prospects and many more have joined our veteran players to help improve a strong 8-4 inaugural season. The Miners followed up an impressive combine in Scranton at Riverfront Sports with a solid first week of camp and expect to be in pads by mid-May. The Miners first game is June 28th @ the Schuylkill County Coal Crackers for the second annual Anthracite Classic and our home opener is at Scranton Memorial Stadium July 12th versus the Hudson Valley Cowboys. The Miners will be recruiting players throughout camp to compete for positions and put the best 53 players on the field come June 28th. The NEPA Miners are also recruiting members for their 2008 Miners Girls Entertainment Team which will be holding their next tryout May 31st at Riverfront Sports as part of their 2nd Annual Charlie Wysocki Camp to raise money for bipolar awareness. The Miners will continue camp at Clover Field in South Scranton April 22, 23, 24, 29, 30 and May 1st before returning to the South Side Complex May 6th. All practices are from 6:30 – 8:45 Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday. A special thanks goes out to the West Side Jets youth football program for their support of the Miners.
