NEPA Miners Ready to Practice

helmet_logo.jpgThe NEPA Miners tryout/combine at Riverfront Sports in Scranton Saturday, left coaches feeling positive going into their first week of practice.  Many new faces were in attendance which shows fast growth in year two of our hometown team.  The tryout was hosted by F.A.S.S.T. and Visions Fitness in which almost 50 athletes participated.  The Miners will now begin camp this Tuesday at Clover Field in South Scranton from April 15th to May 1st before returning to the South Side Complex on May 6th.  The Miners are still recruiting and welcome athletes to tryout at a regular Miners practice.  The Miners will hold camp until mid-May before putting on the pads and preparing for the second annual Anthricite Classic versus the Schuykill County Coal Crackers of the Colonial Football Alliance. The Miners won last years game 44-14, this was also the first win in the history of the Miners franchise. The Miners will practice at Clover Field April 15, 16, 17, 22, 23, 24, 29, 30 and May 1st before returning to the South Side Complex May 6th. All practices are from 6:30 – 8:45 Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday. A special thanks goes out to the West Side Jets youth football program for their support of the Miners.
