The Northeast Pennsylvania Miners are a minor league football team organized in 2006 bringing a first of its kind football team to Northeastern Pennsylvania. The Miners play in the Regional American Football League with home games at our areas finest facilities such as Scranton Memorial Stadium. The Miners completed an impressive 8-4 inaugural season through the hard work of players, coaches and support from the entertainment team.

The Miners’ goal is to be actively involved in year-round activities such as the American Cancer Societies Relay for Life, reading programs for children, mini-football camps for kids, as well as punt and pass competitions. Our aim is to not only to improve football and sports in the area but to help support local causes and organizations within our communities. The NEPA Miners management and team are the driving force behind the development and operation of The Charlie Wysocki Foundation, which benefits those with bi-polar disorder. We have been instrumental in organizing events that have brought many people from outside our area to NE Pennsylvania.

We are planning our 2nd annual Miners Night Out and Silent Auction. Our event this year will be held Saturday, March 8th at the Regal Room in Olyphant and will include a fabulous food buffet, a local live band and a Silent Auction. This is an opportunity for area football fans to meet the team members and management. Last year we had over 30 businesses participating and brought in over $3000 to help purchase equipment for our players and organization. Our goal this year is to exceed $10,000. It is a big jump but we are confident we can do it with your help. We have made a commitment to keep the local community programs on our agenda. The 2007 event had nearly 200 bidding participants and we expect to host nearly 500 this year.
